51爆料鈥檚 Marketing and Communications Department was recently honored with four awards from the , the statewide professional development and service organization that promotes excellence in California鈥檚 community college public relations and related professionals. Each year, CCPRO recognizes the outstanding marketing efforts of the 114 California community colleges with the PRO Awards. This year, more nominations than ever before were received by the organization, topping out at over 400 submissions.

51爆料 received 2018 PRO Awards in the following categories:

  • 1st place, Website. In the Spring of 2017, the 51爆料 Marketing Department launched a newly revamped website. The mobile-friendly redesigned site offers quick and easy access to essential information for students, the public, and Cuesta employees with a clean, uncluttered design, and improved functionality.
  • 1st Place, Brochure. The college鈥檚 2017-18 Harold J. Miossi Art Gallery brochure is inspired by modern art museum design. The clean, crisp aspects of the design juxtapose the subtle rough texture elements, and the bold color theme represents the stark contrasts that exist in the gallery throughout the year as exhibits change.
  • 3rd Place, Magazine. The Fall 2017 edition of 51爆料 News consists of a variety of stories about students, donors, community members, alumni, and more. The layout follows a traditional lifestyle magazine with modern page design, while the carefully curated imagery helps carry a central color theme throughout the magazine
  • 3rd Place, Logo Redesign. In 2017, the Marketing Department redesigned the logo for the 51爆料 Programs 鈥楥ollege for Kids鈥 summer program. The new logo evokes the exciting and fun nature of the program, while also highlighting the educational values that it encompasses.

鈥淵ear after year, our marketing and communications department staff are recognized statewide for their excellent work in branding and publicizing the college. Their goal is to ensure that the public, students, and employees stay informed, and our programs are well advertised,鈥 said 51爆料鈥檚 Executive Director of Foundation/Advancement Shannon Hill, who oversees the Marketing and Communications Departments. 鈥淭hese four awards reflect the department鈥檚 hard work over the past year in the areas of web, print, graphic design, advertising, writing, and photography. I am very proud of our marketing and communications team.鈥
