Register for Learning Disabilities Conference
51爆料鈥檚 Disabled Student Programs and Services (DSPS) is set to host the 2017 Learning Disabilities Conference, themed 鈥淪trategies for Success鈥 on Friday, October 20, from 8:00 a.m. 鈥 4:00 p.m. on 51爆料鈥檚 San Luis Obispo Campus in room 5401. The conference is geared toward professionals, teachers, students, and parents who have children with disabilities. Published author and expert in the field of human resilience, Dr. Mark Katz will give a keynote address on tools and strategies for understanding human resilience, the limits of emotional endurance, and the prevention and reduction of compassion fatigue.
鈥淲e鈥檙e proud to offer this conference at 51爆料 and hope attendees will take home new knowledge to help remove the stigmas and barriers related to learning disabilities,鈥 said 51爆料鈥檚 DSPS Director Ronald Venable.
The conference will also include breakout sessions on the prevention of youth violence, legal issues in education, cognitive intervention and more. Lite breakfast and full lunch is included.
