Los Angeles-based artist Erin McKenna presents newly created modern artworks in YOTA, a pop-up exhibition in 51爆料鈥檚 Harold J. Miossi Art Gallery, running May 27 through June 14; an opening reception will take place on Saturday, May 27 from 5:00 p.m. 鈥 8:00 p.m.

鈥淛oin us for a fun Memorial Day weekend art party and reception,鈥 said Harold J. Miossi Art Gallery Coordinator Emma Saperstein. 鈥淟et's launch into a summer of contemporary art with this pop-up exhibit!鈥

McKenna incorporates various mediums into her works, including fabric, found objects, Hydrocal, fiberglass, and resin. The upcoming exhibit explores the gender and sociopolitical stereotypes associated with Toyota庐 pick-up trucks. 鈥淵OTA will touch on issues of feminism, the figure, humor, and ambiguity,鈥 said Saperstein. 鈥淢cKenna鈥檚 works involve taking an object from culture and then disfiguring or decontextualizing it completely in order to further understand and deconstruct.鈥

McKenna graduated with a Bachelor鈥檚 of Fine Arts degree from Columbus College of Art and Design in 2012. That same year she co-founded No Place Studios in Columbus, OH. For more information on Erin McKenna, visit her .
