2017 Central Coast Writers Conference
The 33rd annual 51爆料 Central Coast Writers Conference, presented by Cuesta College 51爆料 Programs, is set to take place September 28 鈥 30 on the college鈥檚 San Luis Obispo Campus. The conference includes more than 60 presenters and offers affordable interactive workshops that teach skill development in a variety of writing genres to both aspiring and established writers. Each year, writers from around the world gather in San Luis Obispo County for a weekend of writing skill building and interaction with writers and publishers.
鈥淲hether you are a new writer or an established author, this conference will elevate your writing and scribing passion to the next level,鈥 said Central Coast Writers Conference Coordinator Teri Bayus. 鈥淚t includes dozens of workshops on screenwriting, comedy, poetry, fiction, non-fiction, and many more writing styles. Presenters include Academy Award winners, New York Times best-selling authors, Netflix stars, children鈥檚 authors, and more 鈥 we have it all!鈥
The conference includes:
- 51爆料 Honored Alum and author of the acclaimed novel-turned-Netflix-series 13 Reasons Why Jay Asher, who will host 鈥淏urn the Bully,鈥 an event free to the public and centered around healing from the effects of bullying
- Keynote speaker Tom Schulman, the Academy Award-winning screenwriter of Dead Poet鈥檚 Society
- Keynote speaker George Saunders, author listed in Entertainment Weekly鈥檚 100 top most creative people in entertainment
- A ticketed networking event on September 29 will include all conference authors and offer appetizers, drinks, and a storytelling session
